good half-court defense causing 19 Underwood turnovers and getting 24 defensive rebounds to the Rockets’ five

“This was a typical LEC ball game played with lots of intensity and effort from both teams. Hillcrest has really improved and we
had to play very hard. The game became very physical and I was proud of our girls that they kept their composure and pulled out
the win. The difference in the game was the 16-3 made free throws differential and our outrebounding them 44-20. The girls
played good defense down the stretch and got a nice conference victory,” said B-E Coach Dick Simpson.

The Chargers took on Barnesville Jan. 16 in Evansville and claimed a 57-38 win.
“This was probably our best played game this year overall. The girls rebounded well, played good defense, made free throws
and made high percentage shots. After a tough game the night before, the girls showed a lot of heart playing an aggressive and
scrappy Barnesville team. Our ball handlers took good care of the ball and we used our height inside to play very effectively,”
said Simpson.

This time around Heather Strese led the team in rebounds with 14 while Megan Strese had 12.
