Michael (Mike) Schecker
Mike was born November 18,1953 to Floyd & Flavian Schecker (Poltiske) of Evansville, MN. He
graduated from Evansville High School in 1971. On October 13,1973 Mike married Renee
Hokanson at St. Petri Lutheran Church. They lived in Evansville where he worked for various
construction companies.
Mike enjoyed hunting & fishing. His favorite pastimes were playing cards & spending time with
family. On January 15, 2010, Mike passed away at his home in Fargo, ND at the age of 56.
He is survived by his Mother, Flavian; Brothers Lloyd, Jim, Don (Julie), Paul & sister Carol Zickur;
Daughters, Mary (Larry) Thorstad, Michelle (Ryan) Gebhardt; 5 grandchildren; numerous nieces &
nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father, Floyd & nephew Paul D.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 29, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church of
Evansville, MN Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
