BHS Drama Club to present 3 plays
The Brandon High School Drama Club will be presenting three one-act plays onThursday night, 6:30, January 28
and Sunday afternoon, 1:30, January 31, at theBrandon Auditorium.
The event is partially in preparation for the Subsection 17 One Act Play Contest atWest Central Area High School on
Saturday, January 30. The first play of theday will begin at 9:00 with plays following every hour or so with three
playsin the morning and two plays after a lunch break.  Brandon will be performing last and will present  "Nora’s
Lost" by Alan Haehnel,from Playscripts, Inc.  The story concernsNora, an elderly lady who becomes lost in the
woods after wandering outside ofthe nursing home.  The actionoccurs mostly in her mind with memories that flow
on and off the stage as theydo her mind.  The large castincludes seniors Becky Anderson, Malachi Anderson,
Ashley Ayres, Jill Baldwin, DianaEngel, and Dan Wagner.  Juniorroles include Micah Hanson and Kristin Peterson.  
The sophomore group adds Qadry Kehoe, Angela Lysfjord, andPat Wagner.  The cast is roundedout with Caroline
Jansen (8th) and Jenna Ayres (7th). SeniorZach Moreno runs the technical aspects of the show.
Strong interest by students for this competitive event led to the casting of two additional plays that will also be
presented on Thursday night and Sunday afternoon but are not eligible for the contest.  The first play of the night
will be "As Bad as It Gets”by Peter Lancaster Walker through Brooklyn Publishers, LLC, a fun play with some
unusual characters.  The playcast includes three 7th grade students: Jenna Ayres, Sara Moore, and Hailee Saxton.  
The second play of the evening will be “Malled” by Colleen Neuman, from Theatrefolk.  Four girls meet at the mall
for some shopping and discussion.  Parts are played by Micah Hanson, Kristin Peterson, Angela Lysfjord, and
Caroline Jansen.  All plays are directed byDan Olson.   Come support these talented young students and enjoy a
night at the theater.
